Idanga Alibi

Last Monday, ThisDay newspaper carried a story on its foreign page entitled, 'Anti-Gay Bill May Lead to Gay Genocide'. Although the newspaper did not indicate the source of the story, it is obvious that it was from a foreign news agency. To make our point, we will quote the story very extensively.

The story says, "The 'anti-gay' bill pending in the legislature of Nigeria could result in the country running foul of international treaties, which outlaw genocide, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Gay Homeland Foundation (GHF)."

"Nigerian politicians and high officials of the Anglican Church in Nigeria pushing for the anti-gay bill in their country might themselves become subject to international prosecution, GHF suggests. The Foundation states the proposed legislation, if implemented, will undoubtedly have catastrophic effects on gay people in Nigeria."

"The group cites the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide which characterizes genocide as: acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as such: Killing members of the group; Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; Deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about the group's physical destruction, in whole or in part; Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; and or, Forcible transfer of children of the group to another group."

"By signing the Convention, the government agreed that genocide, whether committed in time of peace or in time of war, is a crime under international law. Should the pending Nigerian bill pass, we expect that those who conspire to commit genocide on gay people will be captured, arrested and put on trial".

The gist of this long story is that an international organization (GHF), which protects the rights of deviants like homosexuals and lesbians, is trying to pressure or intimidate Nigerians not to support the anti-gay marriage bill currently in the National Assembly. What amazes some of us is the audacity of deviants. The end times are here with us. We will hear and witness many strange things. A minority with an aberrant lifestyle will be pushing to impose their behaviour on the majority. A people who ought to hide their heads in shame want to pressure us to accept and even promote their aberrant lifestyle. In much of the Western world, gay people have compelled society to tolerate or accept their lifestyle but we in Africa have resolutely refused to toe that line. This is one issue that Africa seems to have resolved not to follow the West despite intimidation from those quarters.

The African Communion of the Anglican Church in particular has been very consistent in the fight against the West's insistence that we must give recognition to a people with a strange sexual orientation. From the long statement by the GHF, it is clear that Nigeria is a signatory to a convention that requires us to condone behaviour that we consider repugnant in our culture. It is possible that while signing that genocide convention, our leaders never knew that it would force them and our country to respect a lifestyle that we do not agree with.

This reality once again draws attention to the need for our leaders, especially in the legislative branch, to carefully scrutinize international conventions before they are ratified. It is certain that if those who signed the genocide convention knew that the definition of genocide is so elastic that it also protects lesbians and homosexuals, they would have hesitated before signing. In these end times, we will continue to see the manifestations of the wiles of Satan. So-called international laws, conventions and treaties that call for universal obedience may be no more than satanic instruments designed and disguised in such a manner that very few may have the wisdom to decode that they are meant to advance the cause of Satan.

Ordinarily, who will object to a law forbidding harm to any national, ethnic or religious groups? But who would have thought that gay rights activists would interpret genocide to include a society's refusal to accept abnormal or unnatural sexual behaviour from a group of people? By reminding us of the Genocide Convention, the tactic of the gay people is to intimidate the moral majority and compel us to accept their unnatural and immoral sexual orientation. We should not succumb to their naked blackmail. As the saying goes, all it takes for evil to thrive is for good men to refuse to do anything about any observed wrong.

Homosexualism, lesbianism and other evils are slowly and surely killing the Western world. Today, their intellectuals are scared stiff about what has come to be known as "demographic winter". Their societies are not being replenished. The populations are aging. If things continue the way they are going today, in the next few years, many nations in the West will have to depend on workforce from Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa. Since many are taking to gay life, how can they have children and since those who have normal sexual orientation are unwilling to bear children, is it not to be expected that those societies are dying in instalment?

Several years ago, missionaries from the West came to evangelise us. We now know that unnatural sexual acts are against God's laws for man. We have held unto this knowledge and will not succumb to anything that contradicts this, as God has not changed his law on it. Moreover, today, there is reverse evangelism. Some of our cousins in the West have gone so far overboard in their identification with Satan that we who still have the gospel have a responsibility to educate them to toe the path of morality and right standing with God.
