The Family Windmill
Sarah's family owns a historic windmill which they use for vacations,
especially in the summer or during holidays. It is listed online using
"Windmühle Diepenau-Lavelsloh, Niedersachsen, Germany"
for a search.
See "https://nat.museum-digital.de/object/689429?navlang=de".
Quoting from that reference:
Die Holländerwindmühle in Lavelsloh wurde 1871 erbaut und 1872 in Betrieb genommen. Seit 1958 ist die Mühle stillgelegt. In den 1980er Jahren wurde sie dann vom Berliner Architekten Hans-Joachim Rieseberg restauriert und im Unterbau zur Wohnung ausgebaut. Im oberen Achtkant ist die Mühlentechnik noch vorhanden.

The Holland windmill in Lavelsloh was build in 1871
and put into operation in 1872. Since 1959 the windmill has been shut down.
In the 1980s the Berlin architect Hans-Joachim Rieseberg restored it and
rebuilt the substructure as living quarters.
In the upper eight-sided part, the technical parts of the mill are still present.

A windmill such as this one cannot have working parts and the blades must be
in a skeleton form, so that winds don't try to turn the wheel.
Otherwise a strong wind would immediately cause damage -- very expensive
to repair. But all the parts that once moved are still present.
My pictures here were taken in 2014; since then they have
added two bedrooms on the second floor and completely overhauled the exterior.
The map next to the bottom below shows that it is 360 km west of Berlin,
or a 3 hour and 45 minute drive from Berlin.
The final row show 3 satellite views: close, intermediate, and far.
